Constable to tackle voter apathy
One of Jersey's senior constables is looking at ways to encourage voters to come to the parish halls to hear the election results declared.

John Germain, head of the Constable's Committee, is disappointed so few people stayed to hear the declarations in halls across the island.

In Constable Germain's parish of St Martin, only one voter was present when the count was announced.

He wants to see an election atmosphere to overcome the apparent apathy.
