Island farmer is new potato face
A local farmer has been chosen as the new face of the Jersey Royal potato.

Peter Le Maistre, a fifth generation Grouville farmer, will feature in a 700,000 advertising campaign marking 125 years of the potato.

The campaign will include a television advert featuring traditional farming methods used to grow the Jersey Royal.

Food writers have also been in the island to talk to farmers about the potato. The export of Jersey Royals was worth 23.5m last year.
