The research will help to establish if the amphibian is under threat

People living in Jersey are being asked to count the number of toads they see on the island's roads.
Conservationists and ecologists want to determine if the crapaud (toad), the island's mascot, is disappearing.
The toad was once a familiar sight in many of the island's inland waters, achieving iconic status with a statue in St Helier.
It is thought numbers may be declining and volunteer toad watchers are being asked to log sightings.
A post graduate student from the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology at the University of Kent will use the information gathered in the island to find out if the species is in crisis.
