Three members of staff at Jersey's animal shelter are to be laid off because of a lack of funds.
The charity is also cutting services amid concerns about its future.
The charity has made two full-time and one part-time member of staff redundant, while two more staff members will not be replaced when they leave.
And from the end of this month the out of hours emergency service and the vets welfare clinic are also to be discontinued.
The Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, which runs the shelter,
is to focus on helping sick, lost and unwanted animals.
It will fund the care from income derived from looking after animals when their owners are away.
