The law says there can only be one lottery
Officials from Jersey and Guernsey will meet in the new year to discuss whether the Channel Islands will become part of the UK National Lottery.

£291,000 will be given in Thursday's Christmas Charity Draw, which would stop if the islands were to merge with the UK.

The law in the UK and both islands says there can only be one lottery.

Jason Laine from Jersey's Economic Development Committee says further talks are planned for the new year.
