A reception is being held in Jersey to help mark the 25th anniversary of the Channel Islands Air Search service.
The organisation's plane, the Lion's Pride, provides a rapid response search service in a 4,000 sq m area around the Channel Islands and the French coast.
It is called out between 40 and 50 times a year.
The work of the service will be marked on Tuesday evening by trustees and friends of the charity at the special reception at Government House.
The service costs over £60,000 a year to run and is solely dependent upon public donations.
