New park plans back on the agenda
St Helier
Car parking is a consideration for a new town park
Plans have been revealed to re-start the development of a town park in St Helier.

A park on the Gas Place site was planned as part of Jersey's millennium celebrations, but the site is still unchanged four years later.

Deputy Jacqui Hilton now wants the plans back on the agenda and is asking the States to fund a 150,000 feasibility study.

Ms Hilton was a member of the original planning group.

Now Vice President of the Environment and Public Services Committee, Ms Hilton intends to try to get the park created.

A feasibility study would include reports from engineers, architects and quantity surveyors.

Ms Hilton says one of the main considerations is whether there should be car parking above or below ground.
