The curtain is to come down and the final reel is due to be shown in the smallest cinema in Jersey on Thursday.
The Cine Centre in St Helier, which made its name showing art films, is to close to make way for a new island medical centre.
It is closing because the lease on the building has come to an end
Managing director Kevin Lewis, who has run it for two decades, said the cinema had catered for diverse tastes for more than 30 years.
It has made a vast contribution to the island's film festival and has even provided facilities for an outdoor screen on Howard Davis Park.
