Easylink: Ban on 'hop on, hop off' service
A new bus service for tourists could be set up in Jersey this summer.

Senator Philip Ozouf, President of the Environment and Public Services Committee, called for a service after the Royal Court ruled against Easylink's tourist bus.

The court said the "hop on, hop off" service was actually a bus service without a licence.

But Mr Ozouf said his committee was considering granting a licence to a new operator this summer.

He said: "My personal preliminary view is that such tourist services should be provided.

"If my committee agrees, we will then work quickly to establish the licensing framework and timetable for decisions to be made."
