Senator elections planned
Nominations are to be held in the next few weeks for a new Jersey senator.

It follows the resignation of Senator Christopher Lakeman who said he could not balance his professional life as an advocate with being a States member.

A nominations meeting will take place at the Town Hall in St Helier on Tuesday 2 March.

The deadline for applications is the day before.

So far, Juliette Gallichan from St Mary is the only person to have declared an intention to stand.

The election will be on Wednesday 24 March.
