Manx hopes for new reciprocal health agreement with UK

Chief minister Tony Brown
Tony Brown said "everything was ready" for a new health deal

The Isle of Man's chief minister has said he hopes a new reciprocal health agreement will be signed off by the UK government "as soon as possible".

The health deal was due to end in April, meaning travellers to the UK would have required health insurance.

However, the Labour government extended it until September. Further talks have been held to agree a new deal.

Tony Brown said "everything was ready" for it to be signed off by the UK's new health secretary Andrew Lansley.

"We don't have any reason to think there would be a different view to what was actually agreed between myself and Andy Burnham," he said.
