Biker killed in head-on Mountain Road crash

A motorcyclist has been killed in a head-on collision with a car on the Isle of Man's Mountain Road.

The Suzuki GSXR 1000 was travelling towards Douglas when the collision happened at Onchan, near to the Creg-ny-Baa, on Sunday afternoon.

Police said the motorcycle was in collision with a black Subaru Impreza travelling towards Ramsey.

The rider suffered fatal injuries and the road was closed for six hours for police investigations.

Officers said a white Mercedes Sprinter van was also involved in the collision.

"At the time of the collision, the Mountain Road was fairly busy and several people were stopped at the Creg-ny-Baa," said a spokesman.

"Police would like to speak to anybody who witnessed the collision or remembers seeing any of the vehicles described immediately before the collision."
