No-one was injured in the helicopter crash

A pilot had a lucky escape when his helicopter crashed in a field in the Isle of Man - just metres away from nearby homes.

The aircraft landed partly on its side in East Baldwin, about three miles (4.8km) from Douglas at 1400 GMT on Friday.

No-one was injured in the accident and he was the only the person travelling in the helicopter.

A police spokesman confirmed an investigation was under way.

He added he believed the aircraft was worth in the region of £300,000.
