Island police join Facebook site

A Facebook page has been launched by police officers on the Isle of Man.

Officers in the Northern Neighbourhood Policing Team have joined the social networking site so they can communicate better with local residents.

They will keep their page updated with items of interest and they will also contribute to discussions on the page.

Sgt Mark Newey said it was not for reporting crime, but aimed at people who wanted to voice their concerns about various issues.
