Patrols to stop anti-social rise

A police campaign to tackle anti-social behaviour by youths has started in the Isle of Man after an increase in poor behaviour was reported.

Incidents of littering, criminal damage and stone throwing have become a problem in the Pulrose and Willaston areas, Pc Alan Shimmin said.

Vehicles have also been damaged which affected the quality of life for the local residents, he added.

Extra officers and a police CCTV unit will patrol the problem areas.

Pc Shimmin said: "I would like to appeal to parents to think about where their children are during the evening and what they are they up to.

"Parents can expect a knock on the door from the police which may also involve in a trip to a police station and possibly criminal convictions.

"We want to create a community spirit and make sure everyone can enjoy themselves but in a responsible manner."
