Manx officer resigns over conduct

A police officer has resigned in the Isle of Man after being found guilty of "discreditable conduct".

The Isle of Man Constabulary said the male constable has been required to resign following a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday.

The requirement was an alternative to dismissal by the island's chief constable Mike Langdon.

The officer, who has not been named, was found guilty of discreditable conduct after an investigation.

Deputy chief constable Gary Roberts said: "The constabulary has very high standards and officers who fail to meet those standards will pay a high price."
