Flybe awarded transfer contract

The airline Flybe has been awarded the contract for the Manx Patient Transfer Service for those with hospital appointments on the UK mainland.

The previous holders of the contract,, operated between Ronaldsway and Chester, but Flybe will fly to Manchester and Liverpool airports.

Patients could have the choice of three or four flights a day, Flybe's chief commercial officer Michael Rutter said.

He added that it was the most "effective" solution for the island.
