Postal strike delays 'expected'

Isle of Man postbox
Manx Post Office workers are not involved in the industrial action

The Isle of Man postal service has warned customers to expect delays to mail during the upcoming UK strike.

The Manx service said it was forwarding all mail as normal to the affected areas but anyone sending standard mail on Thursday should expect some delays.

The Communication Workers Union (CWU)said more than 12,000 of its members will walk out for 24 hours on Friday.

Isle of Man Post Office employees are not involved in the industrial action, a spokeswoman said.

Industrial action will not affect the special delivery, next-day guaranteed service.
