Viking festival re-enacts Tynwald

Vikings
The Viking festival will celebrate the first Tynwald ceremony

A sound and light spectacular is to take place on Peel beach as part of the Isle of Man's Viking festival.

The "Son et Lumiere" event on Sunday evening features a torchlight parade between the castle and Peel Hill ending with the burning of a Viking longboat.

There will also be a re-enactment of the first ever Tynwald ceremony at the Viking Village near the Peel campsite.

Viking enthusiast groups are said to be coming from as far as Poland to take part in the event in the afternoon.
