War memorial care group is set up

A government committee to oversee the registration and preservation of war memorials on the Isle of Man has been set up.

The group is chaired by Adrian Earnshaw MHK. He said: "We owe it to those commemorated to make sure no memorial is neglected or forgotten."

The focus of the committee's work will be to develop databases of war memorials and war graves.

Local authorities will still have full responsibility for the monuments.
