Wildlife volunteers' tools stolen

Tools being used by wildlife volunteers and staff have been stolen from an Isle of Man beauty spot.

The groups from Manx Wildlife Trust were doing some work at the Cooildarry nature reserve in Kirk Michael, above Glen Wyllin.

They left their tools, including a spade and bow saw, behind, but police said they had been taken when a volunteer returned.

Manx Police said that no-one had handed them in.

Pc Ian Scott, of the Isle of Man police, said: "I am remaining open minded, and would ask that if anyone found these tools yesterday and has yet to report their find to a police station that they do so as soon as possible.

"The cost of replacing these tools is estimated at £150 and the trust would rather put the money towards better use."
