High winds forced the cancellation of services

An extra ferry sailing has been added to the Steam Packet's schedule after a weekend of cancelled services.

All sailings between the Isle of Man and Lancashire were called off because of severe gales.

An extra sailing by the vessel Ben-my-Chree from Liverpool Birkenhead to Douglas has been organised for the early hours of Tuesday.

Monday morning's service to Heysham was delayed by two hours due to the poor weekend weather.

Ben-my-Chree is currently in dry dock for repairs but is expected back in service on Tuesday.

It was damaged by fishing equipment in the approach to Douglas Harbour last year.
