Man punched after insulting woman

A man was punched in the face on a night out in the Isle of Man after insulting a woman's appearance.

A man with her attacked the man outside HSBC bank on Prospect Hill, Douglas, in the early hours, police said.

The attacker is described as white, about 5ft 10in (1.77m) tall and had distinctive tattooed ears.

The woman with him was about 5ft 7in (1.69m) tall with long brown hair and was wearing a white top, high boots and fishnet stockings.

No-one has been arrested over the incident.

Sgt Gary Heaton said: "This would seem to be an assault resulting in comments made about a female's appearance."

The officer said the victim had received a facial injury in the attack at 0100 BST.
