Powerboats set for island finale

Honda 2008 Formula 4-Stroke Powerboat Series
The races take place on Saturday and Sunday

Up to 40 powerboats are making their way to the Isle of Man for the final rounds of the Powerboat Championship.

The Honda 2008 Formula 4-Stroke Powerboat Series is being held in Douglas on Saturday and Sunday.

The racecourse follows the natural line of Douglas Bay, with competitors making a turn around the Tower of Refuge.

The cycle path on Douglas Promenade has been closed while preparations for the race, which starts at 1130 BST on both days, get underway.

Hundreds of people are expected in Douglas to see the boats, which are set up in line on the footway near the Jubilee clock.
