Levels of recorded crime have fallen in the Isle of Man, according to new government statistics.
Figures for the first quarter of the 2008-09 policing year up to the end of June show recorded crime dropped 23% compared with the same period in 2007.
Assaults fell by 24%, house burglaries dropped by 38%, reports of criminal damage fell by 21% and there was a 35% reduction in reported vehicle thefts.
There has also been an increase in the number of drug seizures on the island.
Better neighbourhood policing is behind the improvements, Manx Police said.
The island's force also believes that strong partnerships with other government and community agencies and early intervention for certain alcohol-related offences have had an impact on the crime figures.
Deputy Chief Constable Gary Roberts said: "The figures demonstrate just how safe the island is and how the continuing development of neighbourhood policing is making a real difference to the safety of the island and its people.
"We can drive down the figures even further. Members of the public have a part to play in stopping opportunistic criminals by taking simple measures to protect their property."
