'Targeted' shooting in Liverpool

A man from Cheshire has been shot in what police believe to be a targeted attack in Liverpool.

The 48-year-old from Hale Village was shot while on Island Road in Garston. He is being treated at hospital for two gunshot wounds to his right leg.

Officers believe there were two offenders involved in the incident on Thursday night.

They are thought to have been in a silver car - possibly a Saab. Witnesses are asked to contact detectives.
