Work on the hotel is set to start in 2009 and finish in 2012

Work is set to start on a new hotel in the Isle of Man next year.

The Sefton Group is planning to build a 150-bedroom "four star plus" hotel in Douglas, next to Lord Street police station.

The Palace Hilton Hotel and Casino will include suites and serviced appartments as well as a health spa, restaurants, bars, a four-screen cinema and casino.

Work on the complex is expected to be completed by 2012 and will create a number of new jobs on the island.
