More than 50 people died in the fire
The leader of Douglas council has said he is against the Summerland complex site becoming privately owned.

More than 50 people died in a fire at the former leisure complex site 25 years ago.

Now David Christian claims he does not want it to become "just another property development".

He said he would like to see a public project which would provide the island with some new leisure facilities for its youngsters.
