EuroManx is based on the island
Isle of Man air firm EuroManx is offering scholarships to sporting stars of the future, including free flights.

The firm is offering UK flights to the successful applicants, who will become ambassadors for EuroManx and the island.

Cycling star Mark Cavendish and rising badminton champion Josh Green have already benefited from the scheme.

Sponsorship will include some funding and a "bank" of flights. Independent judges will decide on the recipients.

Donna Sloane, EuroManx head of sales and marketing, said: "The island has produced some amazing success stories across the world, particularly in sport, and we want to play our part in developing this further.

"So many young athletes need to travel off the Island to train and compete, so if EuroManx can help with their often expensive travel requirements then we will be only too happy to help.

"We are a local company with our entire operation based on the Island, so this scholarship scheme will reflect our commitment to the island and its people."
