The laws will not apply to public rights of way
Dogs are to be banned from Douglas Golf Course following a major review of by-laws in the Isle of Man.

Douglas Council leader David Christian said the law had been brought about as dog owners had been allowing their pets to foul on and damage the greens.

"We have received numerous complaints from golfers, it costs money to put these right."

The restriction will not apply to public rights of way but everywhere else it will be strictly enforced.

Mr Christian added: "We would hope that through education, prosecution will be the last course of action."
