DJ Kershaw held over bail breach
Andy Kershaw
Andy Kershaw has presented his Radio 3 show since 2001
DJ Andy Kershaw has been remanded in custody in the Isle of Man after admitting breaching bail conditions.

The Rochdale-born 47-year-old was due at court next week to face charges of breaching a restraining order against his former partner Juliette Banner.

It is thought the bail breach relates to a curfew imposed by High Bailiff Michael Moyle in that case.

Last month the BBC Radio 3 DJ was given a three-month suspended sentence for harassing Ms Banner.

Kershaw lives with his new partner Catherine Turner at their home in Rhencullen.

Drink-driving

He admitted causing Ms Banner and her new partner fear, alarm or distress in August.

He also pleaded guilty to drink-driving when he was stopped by police and was found to be almost twice the legal limit.

Ms Banner and Kershaw were together for 17 years and have two children.

Kershaw was a TV presenter on music shows before getting a slot as a Radio 1 DJ but left in May 2000.

He now presents a world music show on BBC Radio 3, which is currently off-air.
