BBC DJ bailed over order breach

DJ Andy Kershaw has appeared in court in the Isle of Man accused of breaching a restraining order taken out by his former partner.

The BBC Radio 3 presenter, who lives on the island, was given a three-month suspended jail term in October after admitting harassing Juliette Banner.

The 47-year-old is alleged to have breached the order again by approaching her last week on the Isle of Man.

He was bailed to appear on 4 December at the High Bailiff's Court, Douglas.

High Bailiff Michael Moyle granted bail on condition Mr Kershaw live with his new girlfriend, Catherine Turner, at their home in Rhencullen.

He must also observe a 1930 GMT to 0730 GMT curfew and must not enter licensed premises.

However, Mr Moyle granted him dispensation to leave the island from 19 to 23 November to attend a TT riders' convention in Birmingham.
