Gas prices increasing on island
The Isle of Man energy company Manx Gas has announced that it is to increase the price of gas.

The company said it is paying record prices for oil and that customers will face increases in natural gas and LPG.

Natural gas is going up by 3.9%, as the company was able to buy the product in advance earlier in the year but LPG customers could face a higher increase.

The price increases for both types of fuel are due to start from 11 November a company spokesman said.

Manx Gas chief executive Alan Bates said the different availability of the two fuels has caused the company to consider converting more parts of the island to natural gas.
