Douglas and Ballymoney are now officially twinned
Volunteers are wanted to help build links between Douglas on the Isle of Man and its new twin town, Ballymoney in Northern Ireland.

The councils made their union official at a ceremony in Douglas last November.

Dot Pitts, from Douglas Corporation, has said both authorities are already forging strong sporting, cultural and educational links.

She now wants to set up a twinning association and is appealing for keen volunteers to contact her.

She hopes the group will be made up of members of the public, representatives from schools, sporting associations, the arts, drama and the business community.

Anyone interested should send details to Mrs Pitts at the Town Hall by 31 July.
