Accountant becomes commissioner
The Isle of Man's Braddan Commissioners have a new face following the election of Liberal Vannin candidate, accountant Kate Beecroft.

Ms Beecroft topped the poll with 274 votes on Thursday.

Ambulance driver Alan Blaney polled 130 votes and despite withdrawing from the election, concrete caster Frank Cannell received five votes.

The seat became available after chairman Garry Beattie decided to step down for health reason.

Ms Beecroft was a candidate in Middle during the General Election.
