The trams could help cyclists see more of the island
Railway wagons may be adapted to allow the Isle of Man's electric trams to transport bicycles.

The Department of Tourism and Leisure is in talks to make the changes, so cyclists can enjoy a mainly downward ride on the island's hilly routes.

The service could start as soon as May this year.

Adrian Earnshaw, tourism and leisure minister, said it would enable the tram service to expand so visitors can see more of the island.

The Manx Electric Railway operates between Douglas, Laxey and Ramsey between April and November.
