Tynwald elects new house speaker

Steve Rodan received 10 votes to secure his place as speaker
Members of the Manx Tynwald have elected the current health minister as their new House of Keys speaker.

Garff MHK Steve Rodan received 10 votes to secure the parliamentary role as house speaker.

Other members in the voting were Michael MHK David Cannan and Rushen MHK Quintin Gill.

Mr Brown said that he wished to enhance the office of speaker, especially with regard to the international interests of the Isle of Man.
