Party fails to dominate election
Peter Karran
Onchan MHK Peter Karran founded the Liberal Vannins
A new political party on the Isle of Man, the Liberal Vannin party, failed to make major in-roads into the House of Keys in the general election.

The Lib Vans fielded several candidates on Thursday, despite the island traditionally favouring independents.

The party was formed by Onchan MHK Peter Karran, who held his seat.

Bill Malarkey won a seat in Douglas South, but the party failed to win in Douglas East, Douglas West, Castletown, Garff, Middle, Ramsay and Rushen.

The party has said it pledges "politics to the people".
