A move towards banning smoking in some public places on the Isle of Man has moved a step nearer.
The Public Health (Tobacco) Bill, which would ban smoking in enclosed areas like bars and offices, has cleared its final hurdle in the House of Keys.
The bill was passed by 20 votes to three at the third reading stage.
Once the bill has been considered by the Legislative Council and received Royal Assent there will be more consultation on how it is implemented.
This would examine which places might be affected by the ban.
A government survey has shown that almost 92% of households felt action was needed to reduce the exposure to second-hand smoke.
