Children on the Isle of Man will soon be meeting animated characters Wallace and Gromit as part of a drive to promote a children's charity.

The pair will be touring the island's schools with Yamaha TT racer Guy Martin from next Monday.

Children of all ages will be asked to take part in a "Bike-O-Matic" invention competition as part of the "Wrong Trousers" fundraising day.

The winners will receive prizes from David Cretney MHK.

The Tourism and Leisure minister said: "I am delighted to welcome Wallace and Gromit and Guy to the island and hope they have a fun time spreading the word about their very worthwhile cause.

"I look forward to meeting them soon and trust the weather will be kind to them during their stay."
