The competition also has events for modern cars
Fans of vintage cars are appealing for owners to enter the Manx Classic to ensure it goes ahead in 2006.

At least 100 entries are required to make sure the event, organised by the Manx Motor Racing Club (MMRC), takes place next year.

The competition would host three different races with classes for historic and modern cars, including a new Bray Hill Sprint event.

John Bowles, of the MMRC, said they are "aggressively" looking for competitors.

The MMRC previously ran the Manx Classic Challenge and the Three Hills races.

"The event is obviously open to Manx competitors because it is an event not only for classic cars but for modern cars as well," he said.

"So long as we get 100 entries, the event will go ahead."
