The Google Street View Car's visit to the island was delayed
Google has confirmed it will not be collecting any private information when it comes to Guernsey to take pictures for its Street View map.
The company apologised for collecting information from unsecured wireless networks over a three-year period.
The issue came to light after German authorities asked to audit the data the company gathered.
The camera car had been due in the island at the start of May, but the visit was delayed.
Guernsey's data protection commissioner said he spoke to his German counterparts at a convention in Spain shortly before the issue came out in the media and after that he raised concerns with the company about the visit to the island.
