The beach restrictions are in force during peak summer months
|
Summer beach restrictions for dog walkers have been brought into force in Guernsey. Until the end of September, Fermain, Petit Bot, L'Eree, Vazon, Cobo, Port Soif, L'Acresse and Pembroke are off limits to dog walkers. Animals are also banned from Lihou island and there is a voluntary ban on dogs at the Richmond end of Vazon. There are also restrictions on horse riding and driving vehicles on all the island's beaches. The activities are prohibited between 1000 BST and 1900 BST without police permission. The restrictions are introduced by the Environment Department while beach use is at its peak during the summer. Permission should also be sought from the department for barbecues for groups of 10 to 50 people.
