Sites approved for light industry by Guernsey States

The States of Guernsey has agreed to amendments to the Urban and Rural Area Plans that would potentially free up three sites for light industry.

Land in St Martin, St Sampson and the Forest will be re-zoned following more than a day of debate on the issue.

Environment Minister Peter Sirett said although the sites had been identified, there was no guarantee what they would end up being used for.

Proposals to set aside other areas for light industry were rejected.
