Inspections carried out of Guernsey's sewers

An inspection of some of Guernsey's sewers is due to begin next week.

In preparation for the works, pumps and pipes have been installed by engineers in the Fountain Street and Quay area of St Peter Port.

The States Public Services Department said the intention was for most of the sewer inspection work to be carried out at night.

The pumps are to ensure sea water can be prevented from entering the island's sewage system at high tide.
