Deputies push for report debate

A group of deputies has attempted to force a debate on a critical report into Guernsey's system of government.

A requete demanding the findings of the Wales Audit Office (WAO) report are discussed properly has been signed by 14 States members.

The WAO report was published in September and concluded the States failed to meet any of the six guidelines on good governance.

The members want to ensure the matter is debated by the States next year.

The public accounts committee has already been tasked with reporting back to the States on the report, but some deputies have voiced a growing frustration at the lack of progress in discussing its findings.
