Island marks Remembrance Sunday

Respects have been paid to all those killed during wars as Guernsey marks Remembrance Sunday.

An official service was held at the War Memorial, at the top of Smith Street in St Peter Port.

Proceedings started with a parade at 1030 GMT from the Town Arsenal, followed by the Act of Remembrance.

Various cadet forces and members of local organisations marched in the parade, and ex-servicemen and women were also invited to take part.

A bugler sounded the Last Post at 1058 GMT, and there was a two minute silence at 1100 GMT.

This was followed by a short service and wreath laying at the War Memorial.
