Mobile CCTV for trouble hotspots

Areas in Guernsey identified as trouble hotspots could have mobile CCTV cameras deployed to them as part of a crackdown on vandalism in the island.

The cameras are one of 24 suggestions made in the Scrutiny Committee's Investigating Vandalism review.

Other recommendations included alcohol-free zones and the use of anti-vandal paint on more States properties.

More than 400 islanders and businesses made contributions to the review as well as various States departments.

Many of the responses from the public were gathered through questionnaires that asked people issues to do with the causes and effects of vandalism.
