Home Start supports families with young children

Demand for the services of a Guernsey charity has increased so much in the past year, it needs more volunteers.

Home Start helps people with young children, including those suffering from post-natal illness, bereavement or social isolation.

A spokesmen for the charity said in order to meet the demand, it needs to double the number of volunteers and recruit an additional co-ordinator.

A training course for people interested in helping will be run this autumn.

Support is given to families with children under the age of five.
