More filters for school computers

New software is to be installed in school computers over the summer to ensure students in Jersey are not able to access unsuitable content.

Island schools already have filters but the new technology will make it harder for pupils to infiltrate them.

In the autumn an awareness campaign will also show parents how to protect children from harmful material at home.

On Monday a report revealed that school filter systems in the UK failed to flag up 10% of harmful incoming content.
